The latest round of census data has been released by Statistics Canada, and it shows Thunder Bay's population continues to get older.
According to the 2011 census, the number of children aged 14 and under in the Thunder Bay area dropped from 16.5 per cent of the overall population to 14.8 per cent over the past five years.
The number of people aged 65 and older jumped from 16 per cent to 17.2 per cent in that same time period.
And the median age for people in Thunder Bay rose from 41.8 years old to 43.6.
That's about three years older than the median age across Canada.
