Thunder Bay teen among victims of fatal crashes near Kenora

A Thunder Bay teen has been identified as one of the victims in the two early morning motor vehicle fatalities near Kenora. At 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning on Highway 71, near Fickas Road, OPP found a car in the ditch.

At 6:30 a.m. Thursday morning on Highway 71, near Fickas Road, OPP found a car in the ditch.
The driver and lone occupant, 18-year-old Nicholas Corrigan of Thunder Bay, died at the scene.

A few hours earlier on Highway 17, about 10 kilometres east of Highway 71, a car struck a rock cut and caught fire.

Colin Duguay, 40, of Kenora, was transported to Lake of the Woods District Hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

Officers with the OPP are still investigating both incidents.
