Thunder Bay resident wins big.
Holly Rocco

TORONTO – A Thunder Bay woman is the city’s newest millionaire.

Holly Rocco of Thunder Bay was revealed on Thursday as the winner of Maxmillions prize from the June 22 Lotto Max draw.

Holly, a 43-year-old mother, likes to play the lottery when the jackpots are high.

“I heard on the news there was a winner in my community, so I checked my ticket using the OLG Lottery App,” she said. “I thought there was something wrong with the app.”

Holy spent a whole week giggling to herself from the joy of her win.

“It’s absolutely crazy – I never expected this!”

The 43-year-old plans to pay off her mortgage, build a fire pit, save some for early retirement and travel when it’s safe again.

“My kids are all getting new iPhones – they’re so excited,” she smiled.

The winning ticket was purchased at Mac’s on Dawson Road in Thunder Bay.
