THUNDER BAY — The Gateway Casino in Thunder Bay, along with all other casinos in Ontario, is shutting down for a minimum of three weeks.
The closure takes effect at 12:01 am Wednesday, Jan. 5.
The Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation said the temporary shutdown is the result of the new provincial health measures announced on Monday.
It will last until "at least" January 26, OLG said.
The Thunder Bay casino was last closed from Christmas 2020 to July 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
Charitable gaming centres across the province must also close under the new restrictions related to the ongoing pandemic.
OLG said it is working with the service providers in these locations to ensure a coordinated temporary shutdown of operations.
