THUNDER BAY — The dates for the 2023 edition of the popular ThunderCon fan convention have been revealed.
This year's event will take place on Sept. 9-10 on the grounds of the Canadian Lakehead Exhibition.
ThunderCon was cancelled for two years because of the pandemic, but made a successful return last year, when over 2,000 fans showed up to meet some hometown and visiting talent.
"It's gratifying to see the energy and interest from the membership continue to produce a unique pop-culture event," outgoing chair Kevin Taylor said in an announcement Wednesday. "I have every confidence that ThunderCon 2023 will bring the best of the past and introduce new and exciting programming."
The identities of this year's special guests have not been revealed as yet, but there have been some hints.
"Keep an eye out for our first guest announcement coming soon, especially if you like comic books," longtime ThunderCon board secretary Linda Fogen-Madsen, who's now leading the organizing team, advised fans.
