Toronto man charged with drug trafficking following traffic stop near Nipigon

A 50-year-old man from Toronto has been charged with one count of possession of a schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking.

NIPIGON - A traffic stop by Ontario Provincial Police on Sunday evening led to drug trafficking charges against a Toronto man after police located Oxycodone pills.

Nipigon OPP conducted a traffic stop on Highway 11/17 in Lyon Township, west of Nipigon, for a Highway Traffic Act Offence shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 22, according to a news release.

Further investigation led officers to locate and seize a quantity of Oxycodone pills. The driver was also found to have an outstanding arrest warrant.

Costy Dessources, 50, of Toronto is charged with one count of possession of schedule one substance for the purpose of trafficking.

He appeared in court on Monday, Nov. 23.
