Toronto teen charged with drug trafficking offence in Thunder Bay

A Toronto teen has been remanded into custody following an investigation into drug trafficking activity.

Police arrested a Toronto youth in connection with drug trafficking activity in this city Wednesday.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers with the Community Oriented Response (COR) Unit attended a residential address in the 100 block of Cumberland Street South after receiving reports of activity at an apartment unit that should have been vacant.

When police entered the residence they located a 15-year-old male and evidence of drug trafficking. The youth was arrested without incident.

Police found the youth was in possession of a quantity of suspected crack cocaine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking. He was transported to the TBPS headquarters at 1200 Balmoral Street.

A 15-year-old male from Toronto is now charged with: Being Unlawfully in a Dwelling; Possession of Cocaine for the Purpose of Trafficking. The accused cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act.

He appeared in bail court on Thursday, Dec. 3 and was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
