Traffic complaint leads to impaired driving charges

One man faces impaired driving charges after police receive early morning traffic complaint.

FORT FRANCES, Ont. – A Couchiching First Nation man faces impaired driving charges after OPP received traffic complaint early Monday morning.

Ontario Provincial Police were dispatched to a complaint of a possible impaired driver on Monday at 1 a.m. in the area of Stewart Street and King’s Highway in Fort Frances.

Police located the vehicle and conducted an investigation.

As a result of the investigation, a 23-year-old from Couchiching First Nation was charged with operate a conveyance with 80 or more milligrams of alcohol in 100 millietres of blood; and operate a conveyance while impaired by drug or alcohol.

He will appear in Fort Frances Provincial Court to answer to these charges.
