THUNDER BAY -- A north side street has been closed due to a major water main break.
Crews with the City of Thunder Bay are working on the water main break on Stephens Street. The break has led to the closure of that street between Cumberland and Court Streets.
“We’ve spent a lot of time breaking frost,” said Gerald Luty, Supervisor for the Sewer and Water North division.
The break was reported Wednesday morning at about 2 a.m.
UPDATE: Shortly after noon city officials confirmed that the water main repairs would likely be complete by Wednesday evening.
The break has resulted in water service to the area being temporarily shut off; about 25 homes are affected.
