WAWA, Ont. -- Hitting the road from Thunder Bay to southern Ontario in the next few days? You may want to plan your route carefully.
Highway 17 south of Wawa has been closed, starting at about noon Tuesday, for an emergency culvert replacement.
The stretch of highway may remain closed until Thursday.
Officials with Ontario’s Ministry of Transportation say a detour is available through Chapleau along Highway 101.
For motorists in this area, Highway 11 through Cochrane may also be an alternative.
