City of Thunder Bay Media Release

August 20, 2015 – The intersection of James Street and Churchill Drive will be temporarily converted to four-way stop sign control while the traffic signals are rebuilt.

The five-week project is scheduled to begin on Monday, Aug. 24. Traffic will be reduced to one lane in each direction until the new traffic lights are installed and operational.

The existing traffic signals will display a flashing red light beginning Friday, Aug. 21, and lasting through the weekend until the temporary stop signs are installed.

Motorists are asked to use extra caution and obey all posted signage when travelling in the area.

The construction schedule is subject to change, as various factors – such as weather – can have an impact on project timelines.
