Traffic stop leads to drug bust

A traffic stop by Kenora detachment of the OPP has led to a seizure of drugs and contraband cigarettes. Police officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 Wednesday afternoon within the Kenora city limits.

A traffic stop by Kenora detachment of the OPP has led to a seizure of drugs and contraband cigarettes.

Police officer stopped a vehicle on Highway 17 Wednesday afternoon within the Kenora city limits. After a brief investigation, the officer seized 400,000 contraband cigarettes, 52 grams of marijuana and a large quantity of Canadian cash.

Two Alberta residents, a 58-year old man and a 45-year old woman, face charges of possession of narcotics and contraband cigarettes.
