Officers with the Red Lake detachment of the OPP responded to a recent complaint of a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed and swerving as it was being driven down Highway 125.

Police located the vehicle and pulled the driver over. Officers then learned that the driver had been consuming alcohol.

Police say when officers searched the vehicle, they found and seized about 2,250 grams of marijuana.

Police later charged Jessica Opar, 26, of Winnipeg, with impaired driving and possession for the purpose of trafficking.

The suspect is expected to appear in Red Lake Provincial Court on Sept. 22.
