Traffic stop leads to multiple drug charges

A traffic stop on Highway 601 has led to a number of drug-related charges.

DRYDEN, Ont. – A traffic stop by Dryden Police on Tuesday has led to a seizure of drugs and cash.

According to a release, police conducted a vehicle stop on Highway 601 for a highway traffic act violation.

Police say the driver had outstanding charges in Dryden and was arrested at roadside.

A search of the accused and the vehicle led to the seizure of a small amount of methamphetamine, Percocet, cocaine, drug paraphernalia and cash.

Police have charged 29-year-old Benjamin Grant Fumerton of Dryden with uttering (passing) counterfeit money, three counts of fail to comply with a recognizance of bail, possession of proceeds of crime, possession of methamphetamine, possession of opioids, possession for the purpose of trafficking cocaine and a number of highway traffic act offences.

He was also charged on April 3 in Winnipeg, Manitoba with a number of offences including offences related to firearms, and drug trafficking.
