Transport driver charged with careless driving

THUNDER BAY — An overnight collision on Highway 17 has resulted in a charge of careless driving being laid against a transport truck driver.

OPP officers from Thunder Bay and Ignace detachments responded to the incident, which occurred just after midnight on Wednesday about 30 kilometres east of Upsala.

The single-vehicle collision left a tractor-trailer overturned in the ditch, but no injuries were reported.

Images posted on social media showed the tractor sustained heavy damage.

OPP charged a 31-year-old resident of Stoney Creek, Ont.
