A new travelling bilingual exhibit dedicated to the history and heritage of Northwestern Ontario francophones has been unveiled at the Waverly Library.

A new travelling bilingual exhibit dedicated to the history and heritage of Northwestern Ontario francophones has been unveiled at the Waverly Library.

Created by the Francophone Association of Northwestern Ontario and the French Canadian Club of Thunder Bay, the exhibit consists of 10 bilingual banners featuring francophone history from the 17th through the 20th centuries.

They depict stories of their travels, the fur trade, and their involvement in development of the business community.

CCF Vice-President Audrey Debruyne says it's important for our francophone residents to know where they come from.

The exhibit will travel to different public locations around the city, including the hospital and airport. The exhibition will run until Feb. 23 at the Waverley Library. Admission is free.
