THUNDER BAY – Thunder Bay residents will have the chance to swap reusable household items over the weekend, as the city’s “treasure exchange days” event returns for another year.

Participants can put items that are still in working order but that they no longer want, including furniture, small appliances, and toys, by the curbside after 5 p.m. Friday, labelled “free.”

Residents are then invited to tour their neighbourhoods on Saturday and Sunday to discover items they may want to take home with them.

All items not taken must be removed from the curb by 7 p.m. on Sunday, the city said, warning it will not collect them.

The city typically holds two Treasure Exchange Days per year, and another is planned for September.

Treasure exchange days began in 2014. More information is available at the city’s website.
