Trio of T-Wolves sign ECHL deals

Tyler Jette, Griffen Fox and Colin Van Den Hurk will try their luck in the pro ranks.

THUNDER BAY – Three of the 11 graduating Lakehead Thunderwolves players have signed professional contracts.

Forward Griffen Fox will join the Fort Wayne Komets, defenceman Tyler Jette is now a member of the Wichita Thunder and blue-liner Colin Van Hurk inked a deal with the Idaho Steelheads.

All three teams are in the ECHL, a feeder league two steps below the National Hockey League.

Fox spent three years in a Thunderwolves uniform, scoring 24 goals an 60 points in 70 OUA appearances.

Van Den Hurk, second on the club with 23 points this season, also leaves after three seasons, with 14 goals and 53 points to his credit in 68 career games. Jette, 25, the outgoing Thunderwolves captain, spent four seasons at Lakehead, coring five goals an adding 23 assists in 87 games.
