DRYDEN, Ont. -- One person was hospitalized following a highway crash involving a truck, SUV and transport truck Tuesday.

DRYDEN, Ont. -- One person was hospitalized following a highway crash involving a truck, SUV and transport truck Tuesday.

Officials with the Dryden detachment of the OPP say they received reports of a crash on Highway 17, near the Highway 594 junction in Machin Township, just before 9 a.m.

Police learned that a pickup truck being driven westbound on Highway 17 was being passed by a tractor trailer on the driver’s right. That caused the pickup truck driver to lose control of the vehicle on the icy roads, slamming into an SUV being driven eastbound.

The driver of the SUV suffered minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

The driver of the tractor trailer did not stop at the scene and witnesses were not able to identify the vehicle.

Police were unable to locate a tractor trailer based on the vague descriptions they received.

As a result, no charges have been laid by police.
