THUNDER BAY — Ontario Provincial Police say no one was injured when a tractor-trailer went out of control in a single-vehicle collision Wednesday morning on the eastern outskirts of Thunder Bay.
OPP said a tanker truck westbound on Highway 11/17 left the roadway near the Terry Fox Lookout and entered the median between the eastbound and westbound lanes of the divided highway.
The tractor portion of the vehicle remained upright but the trailer portion disconnected and rolled over in the median.
According to police, it was carrying mineral oil—described by the OPP as a non-hazardous substance—and there were no leaks from the tank.
The male driver has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act with making an unsafe move.
