RAINY RIVER — Two people are facing drug-related charges following a traffic stop in January.
Rainy River Ontario Provincial Police conducted a traffic stop for a highway violation on Jan. 20 shortly after 8 p.m., according to a news release issued Monday, March 1.
Police say an investigation at the traffic stop led officers to locate and seize evidence of controlled substances including a black pistol-style pellet gun, and personal use amounts of methamphetamine, fentanyl and oxycodone.
Johnathan Hendrickson, 22, of Kenora has been criminally charged with obstructing a peace officer and two counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Austin Laxdel, 25, of Stonewall, Manitoba, has been charged with two counts of possession of a controlled.
