Two arrested in Lakeshore Drive robbery

Weapons charge laid against a 22-year-old Thunder Bay resident in incident; OPP say a third suspect still being sought.

THUNDER BAY – Ontario Provincial Police say they have two Thunder Bay men in custody in connection with a robbery and weapons offences on Wednesday morning at a Lakeshore Drive residence.

Police say they are still looking for a third suspect.

In an updated release issued on Thursday morning, OPP say they responded to a robbery call in Shuniah at about 2:43 a.m. When they arrived it was reported the suspects fled in a dark-coloured sedan, which was subsequently located by police on Oliver Road and stopped using a spike-belt device.

A male suspect was arrested on scene and a search was conducted, in conjunction with Thunder Bay Police, and a second male suspect was taken into custody at about 2:10 p.m. on Wednesday.

Alejandro Iniestra-Sanchez, 20, was charged with robbery with violence, disguise with content, flight while being pursued by a peace officer and possession of cocaine.

Logan Lunn, 22, was charged with pointing a firearm, robbery using a firearm, disguises with intent, flight while pursued by a peace officer and assault with a weapon.

Both men have been remanded to the Thunder Bay District Jail, awaiting future court appearances.

The investigation is ongoing.
