Two charged following drug bust in Fort Hope

A pair have been arrested following a drug bust in Fort Hope First Nation on Sunday.

Fort Hope, Ont – A search of a residence in Fort Hope First Nation has resulted in the seizure of Oxycodone and Marijuana

The Nishnawbe Aski Police Service Drug Enforcement Unit executed two search warrants in Fort Hope Sunday and seized the drugs, which police estimate have a street value of more than $10,000.

A 35-year-old man has been charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds obtained by crime, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, two counts of unauthorized possession of a firearm and breach of probation.

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court on May 29.

A 35-year-old woman has also been charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a substance and possession of proceeds obtained by crime.

She has been released on conditions and will appear in court on August 17 in Fort Hope.
