Two charged with trafficking cocaine

OPP charged two men with possession for the purpose of trafficking after discovering cocaine and cash.

(SIOUX LOOKOUT, ON)  On Wednesday, September 7th, 2016, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) executed a Controlled Drug and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant on a residence on First Avenue in Sioux Lookout. 

As a result of the warrant, investigators located and seized 10 grams of cocaine with an estimated street value of $1000, paraphernalia indicative of drug trafficking and $3,880 in Canadian currency.   

A 45-year-old Sioux Lookout man has been charged with Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) contrary to section 4(1) CDSA and Fail to comply with undertaking, contrary to section 145(5.1) of the Criminal Code.

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on September 19, 2016 for a bail appearance.

A 35-year-old Winnipeg man has been charged with Possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) for the purpose of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) CDSA, Possession of property obtained by crime – under $5000 in Canada contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code, and Fail to comply with recognizance, contrary to section 145(3) of the Criminal Code.

He has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Dryden on September 14, 2016 for a bail appearance.
