SHUNIAH - Two young children continue to fight for their lives in a London, Ont. hospital after being involved in a motor vehicle collision north of Thunder Bay.

Sawyer Gollat, four-years-old, and Hartley Gollat two-years-old, were airlifted to a London hospital following a collision on Highway 11/17 near McKenzie Station Road Friday afternoon.

According to Ontario Provincial Police, a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign when entering the highway and collided with an eastbound vehicle.

Four occupants of one vehicle were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and three occupants of the other vehicle were transported to hospital, with Sawyer and Hartley suffering life threatening injuries.

Friends of the Gollat family have created a fundraising webpage to assist the family with medical and travel expenses during this time and it has raised more than $14,000 as of Sunday afternoon.

The investigation into the collision is still ongoing and no charges have been announced by police at this time.
