The first incident, police said, happened on Atlantic Avenue at about 10:30 a.m. where a driver allegedly drove into a utility pole and flipped the vehicle upside down.

The driver and a passenger were reportedly taken to hospital. The driver, a 31-year-old man, faces numerous charges, including impaired driving causing bodily harm, dangerous driving causing bodily harm, taking a vehicle without consent and driving while prohibited.

Police said later that day around 3 p.m., officers were called to the intersection of Montreal Street and Mountdale Avenue where a passenger vehicle had collided with a delivery vehicle.

The 31-year-old female driver of the passenger vehicle faces charges of dangerous operation of a vehicle and a pair of impaired driving-related charges.

Both drivers, who police did not name, were released with conditions and have future court dates.
