Two Fort Frances residents face firearms charges

Ontario Provincial Police have charged two individuals for firearm offences.

FORT FRANCES, Ont. – A pair of Fort Frances residents have been arrested and charged for firearm offences.

According to a release, a conservation officer called OPP to request assistance Saturday on Turtle River Road around 5:50 p.m.

Two officers arrived at the location where they commenced an investigation into the unlawful possession of firearms.

As a result of the investigation, a 38-year-old Fort Frances man was charged with knowingly possessing a firearm while unauthorized and two counts of failing to comply with recognizance.

A 22-year-old Fort Frances man was also charged with unauthorized possession of a firearm and failing to comply with conditional sentence order.

Both men are scheduled to appear in court Oct. 30 to answer to the charges.
