Two hospitalized after multi-vehicle collision on Highway 11/17

Collision involved three tractor-trailers, one passenger vehicle, OPP said.

A multi-vehicle collision on Highway 11/17 west of Sistonen's Corners has sent two people to hospital with serious injuries, according to Ontario Provincial Police.

Three tractor-trailers and one passenger vehicle were involved in the collision, which occurred around 2:39 p.m. roughly five kilometres west of Sistonen's Corners, near Sunshine, OPP said.

Highway 11/17 remained closed between Sistonen's Corners and Finmark Road on Wednesday evening due to the collision.

Poor road conditions also forced the closure of Highway 102, between the 11/17 junction at Sistonen's Corners and the junction at Red River Road, on Wednesday. OPP reported a collision on that highway involving a tractor trailer and a pickup truck.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
