Two men charged after breakins and thefts in Shuniah

Four other suspects are being sought.

SHUNIAH, Ont. — Ontario Provincial Police have arrested two Thunder Bay men after an investigation into recent breakins to residences on Lakeshore Drive in the Municipality of Shuniah.

The incidents began occurring in September.

Two residences were entered more recently while the homeowners slept.

One home broken into twice.

OPP say the thieves targeted vehicles, cash, wallets, credit cards and tools.

On Friday, they arrested 27-year-old Eric Cormier on multiple charges including nine counts of theft, seven counts of breaking and entering, fraudulent use of a credit card and failure to comply with a probation order.

Scott Walford, 24, is charged with fraudulent use of a credit card, possession of property obtained by crime and failure to comply with a probation order.

OPP say arrest warrants are being sought for four additional suspects.

The Thunder Bay Police Service is assisting with the ongoing investigation.
