Two teens charged after pair of crashes in Ear Falls

(RED LAKE, ON) – On June 21, 2016 at approximately 12:30 am, officers of the Red Lake Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of two motor vehicle collisions in the Township of Ear Falls. 

Police attended and found two different motor vehicle collision scenes. 

The Ear Falls Fire Department attended to assist with stabilizing the motor vehicle at one scene and spill abatement at the other.  Several witnesses were identified and assisted police with the investigation. 

As a result, a 16 year old youth from Ear Falls and a 16 year old youth from Red Lake have been arrested and have each been charged with two counts of possession of stolen property contrary to Section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code of Canada.

Both youths were released by way of a promise to appear in Red Lake court on August 25, 2016 to answer to the charges.

The Red Lake OPP would like to remind residents to ensure that their vehicle is locked, keys are removed, windows are closed and valuables are out of sight.
