THUNDER BAY -- The unemployment rate rose in this area as the year came to a close.
New numbers from Statistics Canada shows the the unemployment rate rose to 5.8 per cent for the Thunder Bay area in December 2014.
That’s up from the 5.4 per cent that Statistics Canada reported for November.
The provincial average for December was at seven per cent.
The national unemployment rate remained unchanged at 6.6 per cent.
