United Way of Thunder Bay appoints new president

The United Way of Thunder Bay has appointed Michael Thompson as the new president. Thompson officially took his seat as president at the last United Way board meeting on May 30.

Thompson officially took his seat as president at the last United Way board meeting on May 30.

Having moved to Canada from England, Thompson has lived in Thunder Bay for the past 18 years. Thompson, a general manager with Weiler, Maloney, Nelson Law Firm, has worked as an accountant and various senior executive positions in the community.

Thompson first became involved with the United Way in 1997 and later joined the board of directors in 1999. He held various other roles with the organization such as the treasurer and vice president.

The United Way also announced its new board of directors and executive committee.
