THUNDER BAY -- An auto-pedestrian crash on the city’s north side sent one girl to the hospital Wednesday afternoon.
The crash took place in a residential stretch of North Court Street near Nelson Street at about 3 p.m. involving a sedan and a 13-year-old girl.

Police say the girl’s injuries were not life threatening, but she was taken by ambulance to the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Police say the investigation has revealed that a green sedan was driving north on Court Street near the Nelson Street intersection. The father of the girl was heading south on the same street and saw the girl walking on the opposite side of the street.

The father pulled over to stop in order to pick the girl up and watched her run into the side of the passing car.

Police say the father tried to shout at his daughter for her to stop, but it was too late.

No charges will be laid.
