UPDATE: Area gas bars selling below $1-a-litre Monday morning

THUNDER BAY -- The most you would have paid for regular grade gas in Thunder Bay Monday morning was $1.26-per-litre.

THUNDER BAY -- The most you would have paid for regular grade gas in Thunder Bay Monday morning was $1.26-per-litre.

Gas prices continue to trend downward across the province and country, giving motorists prices at the pumps they haven’t seen in years. Thunder Bay continues to follow that trend with prices continuing to drop modestly across the city.

The lowest price at a Thunder Bay gas bar, as of Monday morning according to the online gas price watchdog ontariogasprices.com, was $1.15-a-litre.

The prices appear to be dropping even more drastically at Fort William First Nations, where most gas bars are selling fuel at less than a dollar-a-litre. The lowest price listed Monday morning was the THP Variety and Gas bar, which sold gas at 97.5-cents-a-litre.

The actual cheapest gas price in Ontario was found in Cornwall, where a gas bar there was selling fuel at 92-cents-a-litre.

On the opposite end of the gas price list, a Thunder Bay station continues to sell some of the most expensive fuel in Ontario at $1.26-per-litre.

Longlac, Schreiber, Emo, Wawa, Sioux Lookout and Cochrane are the other Northern Ontario towns selling gas at some of the higher rates found in Ontario.

Note to readers: This is a corrected version of this story. A previous version indicated an area gas bar had the lowest prices in the province.
