UPDATE: Crime Stoppers, SPCA find owner of starving dog as investigation continues

THUNDER BAY -- The owner of an emaciated dog has been found. Crime Stoppers put a call out on social media Tuesday looking for the owner of a dog found wandering and starving near Junot Avenue and Windsor Street.

THUNDER BAY -- The owner of an emaciated dog has been found.

Crime Stoppers put a call out on social media Tuesday looking for the owner of a dog found wandering and starving near Junot Avenue and Windsor Street.

Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals agent Jeremy Gardiner said the condition of the dog was alarming but was sent to the vet immediately. His condition is being monitored closely.

The owner was found quickly through Crime Stoppers and social media. No charges have been made as the investigation is ongoing.
