Update: Elderly woman seriously injured trying to cross Hodder Avenue

THUNDER BAY – Paramedics rushed an 86-year-old women to the hospital with serious injuries after a car struck her as she attempted to cross a busy north-side street.

THUNDER BAY – Paramedics rushed an 86-year-old women to the hospital with serious injuries after a car struck her as she attempted to cross a busy north-side street.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers responded to the intersection of Arundel Street and Hodder Avenue at about 8:30 a.m.

Officers at the scene confirmed an elderly woman had attempted to cross Hodder Avenue when she was struck by a car at a slow speed.

The motor vehicle was driven by a 57-year-old female.

The female driver has been charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act of Ontario.
