TERRACE BAY, Ont. -- Travel along the north shore of Lake Superior continued to be problematic this weekend.
Highway 17 between Terrace Bay and Marathon has been intermittently closed for much of Sunday afternoon due to icy road conditions, particularly along hills.
That closure comes just a few hours after the highway was given the all-clear following a lengthy closure on a larger stretch.
The OPP had closed the highway between Terrace Bay and White River for about 18 hours from early Saturday evening into Sunday morning due to treacherous conditions caused by heavy ice.
Police are asking motorists to drive with caution and according to road conditions.
