THUNDER BAY – An 18-year-old man charged with second-degree murder following a vicious assault just after midnight Wednesday made his first courtroom appearance this afternoon.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers are investigating a fatal fight that occurred at a Windsor Street housing complex, which left another 18-year-old man dead.

Police are still on the hunt for another suspect, who is known to law enforcement.

Cecil Todd Matinet, 18, faces a single count of second-degree murder.

Police say Matinet was arrested at a Blucher Street home shortly after the fatal incident.

The suspect was remanded into custody following the courtroom appearance.
