UPDATE: Police conduct sudden death investigation on Junot Avenue

THUNDER BAY — Thunder Bay Police confirm that their Major Crimes Unit is currently conducting a sudden death investigation after the discovery of a dead body in a north-side park.

Officers received a call for assistance just after 7:30 a.m. Wednesday and were dispatched to Junot Park beside the Thunder Bay Fire Rescue station on Junot Avenue.

A deceased person was located near the children's play structures located in the park.

The TBPS Forensic Identification Unit is also involved in the investigation.

Late Wednesday afternoon, a spokesperson said police were continuing to treat the death as "suspicious."
