FORT WILLIAM FIRST NATION – Ontario Provincial Police now say that no foul play is suspected in the recent death of a woman who was found at a residence in Fort William First Nation.
Police will not be releasing the identity of the deceased.
On Friday, OPP issued a news release stating that on Oct. 24 officers with the OPP and Anishinabek Police Service along with Superior North Emergency Medical Services and Thunder Bay Fire Rescue attended the residence where they located a woman who was pronounced deceased at the scene.
APS and OPP are investigating the death in conjunction with the Officer of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
The investigation is ongoing and involves APS and OPP members from Thunder Bay Crime Unit, Forensic Identification Services Unit, Major Case Investigation Team, and the Regional Support Team, as well as the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service.
