UPDATE: Power restored after early afternoon outages

THUNDER BAY - City hydro crews have resolved power outages caused by heavy rain and strong winds early Thursday afternoon.

THUNDER BAY - City hydro crews have resolved power outages caused by heavy rain and strong winds early Thursday afternoon.

Thunder Bay Hydro issued an update on Twitter around noon outlining the outages, which were primarily concentrated in the Intercity area.

Power was out east of Fort William Road between 16th Avenue and Leith Street and there was also an outage affecting the Intercity Shopping Centre and Thunder Centre retail areas.

The utility service issued another update around 1:30 p.m. declaring power had been restored.

Outside of the city, Hydro One is reporting about 60 customers are without power in the Nolalu area while there is a small outage in Kakabeka Falls affecting fewer than 20 customers.
