FORT FRANCES, Ont. -- Provincial police are investigating a fatal, early morning snowmachine crash.
Officers with the Rainy River detachment of the OPP remain at the scene of the crash, which involves the lone driver of a single snow machine about 50 kilometres northwest of Fort Frances on Lake Despair.
Police and paramedics arrived at the crash site just before 3 a.m. Friday. Once at the scene they found the driver’s body.
The victim has been identified as 46-year-old Charles Lambert of Alberton Township.
OPP officers continue to investigate the incident with the regional coroner’s office, the OPP’s technical traffic crash investigators, and the OPP’s Northwest region highway safety division.
