Gingrich Woodcraft workers near Fort Frances have voted to organize with a 69 per cent union vote.
"We are extremely pleased to welcome these new members to Unifor and we look forward to sitting down with them in the coming weeks to prepare for negotiations on a new first contract,” said Stephen Boon, the national representative for Unifor, as the union accepted its nearly two dozen new members.
Through organizing efforts bolstered by the forestry industry recovery, Unifor has enlisted 400 new members in Northwestern Ontario this year. Those include sawmill shops in Kenora and Ear Falls.
