SIOUX LOOKOUT, Ont. – A traffic stop in the community of Frenchman’s Head has resulted in impaired driving charges for one woman.

Lac Seul Police Service was conducting a RIDE check over the weekend. Police say a female motorist approached the checkpoint and officers observed signs of impairment by a drug.

Police say a standard field sobriety test was administered and the driver performed poorly.

Lac Seul Police requested OPP for further tests.

A drug recognition evaluator completed their tests with the driver and as a result, a 32-year-old woman of Frenchman’s Head was charged with impaired operation of a motor vehicle by a drug.

The driver was released on a promise to appear.

She is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 10.
