VERMILION BAY -- A fire that broke out at a Vermilion Bay business on Thursday has destroyed the building.
Emergency crews responded to the blaze at a hauling and trucking business, Danny Desmarais Enterprise, on Highway 17 after a fire ignited, according to assistant Machin Fire Chief Olivia Robinson.
“We spent four and a half hours there,” Robinson said, adding the building is a complete loss.
One person was inside the business when the fire started but was able to escape without injury.
