Victim of aggravated assault dies in hospital from injuries

THUNDER BAY – City police are now confirming that a victim of a Tuesday aggravated assault has died. Thunder Bay Police Service officers began their investigation after a woman was transported to hospital.

THUNDER BAY – City police are now confirming that a victim of a Tuesday aggravated assault has died.

Thunder Bay Police Service officers began their investigation after a woman was transported to hospital. Witnesses called 911 reporting that a woman was unconscious and covered in blood on the ground near Totem Trailer Court on Chippewa Road just after 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Police confirmed the woman died Wednesday afternoon.

Earlier that day police said an 18-year-old man charged in an aggravated assault made his s first court appearance Wednesday. Later that day police added that charges may be changed as a result of the news that the victim has died.

The victim, Larissa Charlie-Stillway, was 22-years-old. A post-mortem exam is pending.

Cruz Nicholas Pelletier, 18, of Fort William First Nations is charged with aggravated assault.
His next court date is set for June 19.

None of the charges against the suspect have been tested in court.
