A Thunder Bay resident was rushed to hospital on Monday after being found unconscious in a north side home, the victim of suspected carbon-monoxide poisoning.
Thunder Bay Fire Rescre said upon arriving on scene they tested the air and found readings in excess of 1,000 parts per million of the deadly gas, more than 100 times more than the nine parts per thousand considered safe.
A faulty furnace was determined as the cause of the carbon monoxide.
The home did not have carbon monoxide detectors present. They are now required under Ontario legislation passed in 2014 on all levels in residences.
