THUNDER BAY – A city councillor’s business was the target of a recent break and enter.
A video (see embed below) shared by Northwood Coun. Shelby Ch’ng show what appears to be a man breaking into her Unveiled Bridal Boutique store.
The video shows a suspect using a rock to smash open the door. The suspect then entered the store and out of the video camera’s range.
Coun. Ch'ng, in an email response to tbnewswatch.com, points out that the break-in of her store is a rare case.
"Although this is a horrid thing, and I am feeling mixed emiotions, I am a firm believer that this isn't who we are as a society," Ch'ng writes. "I have been a business owner in that space for three years now and this is the first time something like this has happened.
"I have had over 1,000 days of security and this (video) is only three minutes of millions of minutes that I have operated there."
