THUNDER BAY — A scheduled quarry blast went off as planned on Tuesday, according to the company executing it.
The blast went off in the area of Copenhagen Road and Highway 11/17, right at noon.
Pioneer Construction Inc. notified Newswatch of the plan earlier in the week.
The company does not issue public alerts with specific blast times in order to deter spectators, which it says it to prioritize safety.
