Virdiramo elected Board of Health chairman, Ruberto vice-chair

Westfort Coun. Joe Virdiramo is the new chairman of the Thunder Bay District Health Unit’s Board of Health. He takes over from Norm Gale, named city manager earlier this month, who still retained his seat on the board.

He takes over from Norm Gale, named city manager earlier this month, who still retained his seat on the board.

Fellow councillor Aldo Ruberto was elected to the vice-chair position.

The board membership is as follows:

  • Ed Dunnill: Township of Manitouwadge
  • Terry Fox: Town of Marathon
  • Norm Gale: City of Thunder Bay
  • Richard Harvey: Townships of Red Rock, Dorion and Nipigon
  • Bernie Kamphof: Municipality of Oliver Paipoonge
  • Jack Masters: Provincial appointee
  • Bob McMaster: Townships of Conmee and O’Connor
  • James McPherson: Municipality of Greenstone
  • Karen Morley: Townships of Schreiber and Terrace Bay
  • Aldo Ruberto: City of Thunder Bay
  • Roger Shott: Municipality of Neebng/Township of South Gillies
  • Don Smith: Municipality of Shuniah
  • Joe Virdiramo: City of Thunder Bay
  • Maria Harding: Provincial appointee
  • Jay Daiter: Provincial appointee

Board meetings are held the third Wednesday of every month at 1 p.m. at the District Health Unit. They are open to the public.
